In 2013 American Cyber Careers was formed to drive professionals toward higher IT Certifications. We have extended our training efforts creating a Remote Support Professional turnkey program for people wanting to earn money based on newly acquired skills and knowledge, and as a possible introduction to technology as a career.
Due to the recent events of the United States government drastically reducing their efforts to safeguard our citizens and organizations, AmCC has created a CyberSecurity Defense Playbook to guide SOHO (Small Office Home Office) employees and municipalities away from damaging security breaches. My desire to work with technology in an education setting has resulted in a 25+ year career as a post-secondary technology educator. Many student successes, challenging opportunities and working with great education professionals in positive learning environments has made time fly.
Cyber security professionals are not created in nine months of training, but over years of hands-on application of skills, research and experience. AmCC seeks to develop a community for IT professionals to find pertinent information, access to experienced professionals and contribute through tutoring and mentoring.
My career as a technology educator began with The Chubb Institute which then became Anthem Institute in North Brunswick New Jersey. As Senior Instructor, Program Manager and acting Director of Education, I was exposed to many teaching styles across technology and health programs. I also served as an instructor at ITT and at Brookdale Community College for their STEM program.
I have successfully passed Certified Ethical Hacker, Security Plus, Network Plus, Server Plus, A Plus, many Microsoft certifications and the HiTrust certification.
My position as a SIEM administrator provided real world experience to share with students. This also exposed the significant deficit of qualified cyber security professionals and the need to elevate IT professionals to Cyber Security Professionals in America.
